Moved this thread to the crash bug forum. I suspect that your video card is not supported... Try enabling "netbook mode" (when on the login screen, click options, then graphics, and then click the "Netbook Mode" option to turn it on.
If this doesn't work, post back and let us know. A crash log would really help further diagnose this (see viewtopic.php?f=12&t=79 )
